Check Them Out - GoPicnic

I absolutely love the concept of GoPicnic, whose slogan is Picnic anywhere, anytime.

These meals are the perfect choice for lunches, field trips, family picnics, lunch for work, field trips, on-the-go meals, and just about any other time you don't want to be inconvenienced by the fact that so much food needs to be refrigerated to maintain its freshness and/or heated before eating. These selections required neither! Just open and eat!

They have no partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, MSG, or peanut ingredients so they aren't your typical processed foods that usually can maintain a long shelf life. How's that?

What if I tell you they have gluten free selections, Kosher selections, vegan selections, vegetarian selections, Halal choices, and those for emergency preparedness, among others. And they offer products by a large selection of popular manufacturers.

We selected three items to sample from them. I chose AquaMunch for our picky son, GoTrek for my hubby, and GoPrimo for myself.




The verdict? Well, surprise, surprise...our son didn't love everything in his box. I would have been more shocked if he had. He did love the crackers and jelly sandwiches he could make (wasn't big on the sunflower spread although I found it interestingly appealing) and he scarfed down the applesauce. Chip ate his cinnamon twist and some of the cheesy puffy snacks that were included. And Patrick, of course, loved the tattoo included (that was a surprise for me!).

Chip loved the cheese and Jack Links in his. And the chocolate. No shock there either. The trail mix and fruit disappeared as well. He did comment that the items were a bit bland and reminded him of an upscale MRE. That's not an insult from him, though, as Chip LIKES so many of the MREs.

Mine? Every single bite was delicious. I would eat this every single day if given the chance. And if it was healthy for me (yes, it was), it was too delicious to tell. =)
