Giveaway - Wiglington and Wenks - CLOSED

Giveaway closed. Congrats to The Angry Jackalope, Dixie Diva Deals, Cathy W, and Renee.

Your children now have the chance to play an interactive, social online game with an educational twist.

Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World is designed with kids ages 7-14 in mind and allows both social interaction with other kids from over 150 countries and an educational experience all in one! The premise of the game is that the kids playing are on a mission to find famous historical people from all around the world who have forgotten their identities. Here is one cowboy at the Grand Canyon (when you visit America) who has no idea who he is:

In finding hidden items that belong to those people, the player helps those figures regain their identity while learning all about those people, geography, landmarks, inventions, cultures, conservation and environmental issues. After the characters have regained their identity, the player learns all about them, like with Chief Joseph here:

In addition to all of that learning that is going on, there are social skills being established as they make friends online. There are also games to be played purely for the fun of it. Here is a carnival-esque target shooting game that was fun. I personally liked the game of billiards that was included.

To try out this game, our family was given two premium accounts to try out for a few months (the premium accounts allow access to a few extra areas, but the free game is seriously just as fun).

Here is me (yes, I'm wearing a diving helmet and there is a reason for that. There is no reason for my pet dragon except for the fact I thought he was cute and wanted to buy a pet).

We also created a player for Patrick, but quickly learned that he was not yet old enough to really grasp the plot or point of the game. So yes...the game is definitely for children older than our son.
This game was quite educational and I learned a lot about some historical people that I previously never knew. And truly...I can see where this could take a WHILE to play because it took me a long time to find all of the hidden items and I resorted to cheating so I could hurry up and finish what exists of the game just for the review. Shhhh....it was all in the name of a full and honest review. =)

There is a lot of possibility for social interaction with this game as well and I can imagine that would be fun as well although I didn't socialize with a bunch of kids (that's kinda' creepy, you know?). They do emphasize safety online though, as part of getting your license to travel about the online world depends on you knowing what information is safe to give out online and what is not.

All in all, I think this could really be a treat for kids. It's fun and social for them and educational for your piece of mind. And it is currently expanding rapidly, so more and more maps and locations and people will be added probably before this giveaway has ended.

I would definitely recommend this for kids between the ages of 7-14, as it is recommended for.
