Weekend Round-Up #49

Take a brief moment today and remember those who lost loved ones in the tragedy that was September 11, 2001.

At that time, the motto "We will never forget" was used. Let's make sure we don't.

• My First Place On HGTV: How to Spend Your Next Thirty Years House Poor at Frugal Dad is a great read. I watch these shows all of the time and think similar thoughts. However, I rarely think through an alternate ending and fully appreciated the one he came up with for this couple.
• 15 Little Budget Busters at Richly Reasonable looks familiar. We've reigned in a lot of these now. How about you?
• 3 Financial Principles You Can Depend On! at Bible Money Matters is straight to the point. And so what we need to hear.
• How to Throw a Fun and Inexpensive Tailgate Party at Generation X Finance is a great post for the beginning of football season!

FAMILY/LIFE:

• Body and Soul {Explaining Death To Kids} at Impress Your Kids is a post that has some really moving content. Go check it out. And let's pray for this family in the meantime too.
• When Homemaking Gets In The Way of Mothering at Passionate Homemaking is a piece that hits close to home. My time lost was not in baking bread, but in other unimportant-in-the-grand-scheme items.
• Use Google Voice as your emergency contact number at Parent Hacks is truly a great idea!

FAITH:

• Feeding the ducks. at Jamie the Very Worst Missionary made me smile. A brief, yet well-told message of finding hope when a situation seems hopeless.
• So… who is the greatest among us? at Jesus Needs New PR is one that you don't want to read if you don't want a good look in the mirror. Don't say I didn't warn you.
• Wondering why God makes life impossible sometimes. at Stuff Christians Like is something that someone out there needs to hear right now. Maybe it is you.
