Need Your Thoughts

Got an idea that I need to bounce off of you.

I make candy during the holidays. You know...the yummy homemade kind. Things like fudge, haystacks, truffles, peppermint bark, dipped items of all kinds, peanut butter snowballs, and any number of similar items.

People always love it when we give it to them or serve it.

Would that be something you would buy? I don't mean right now, from me.

I mean, if someone were to start offering to make it for the holidays for a price, would you pay for it, whether it be for a gift or for an event you needed some goodies for? I was thinking about making a little extra money this way this year, but have no idea if it would fly.

Any thoughts?

  1. I have a friend who makes candies and cookies for the holidays. She make at least 1000, depending on what it is she makes about $25-$40 for 2 dozen. I think people would buy it. Lots of people are not as frugal as us, I personally would rather make my own, but she makes quite the profit doing it. She has also been doing it for about 7 years. Hope that helps.

  2. I think it could work, I have seen several people do it around here, but I never buy any because my grandma makes a ton of that type of stuff too. I think if you can be sure to make enough money to make it worth your time, while still keeping the price reasonable, you should be able to make some extra cash!

  3. I wouldn't buy it, because I make my own, but my sister-in-law makes candies and cookies for several doctors she knows from the surgical center she works at, and they pay her very well for her treats.
