Pretty Up Your Princess's Nails - Piggy Paint Giveaway

I am the mother of a girly-girl.

Let me rephrase that:

I am the former tom-boy who used to tear off the heads of her Barbie (I promise I'm not a sociopath) and use G.I. Joe to protect my bedroom from all likenesses of Cobra and even to this day works in a male-dominated field. I am the mom of a dress-up loving, fairy ballerina-playing, hair bow-obsessed, shoe-hoarding, three year old princess.

I am a little out of my element.

Yes, I love a good pampering and it is one of the few delights I allow myself even when money is tight (I just find a cheaper way to do it), so this is not a totally foreign concept to me. I totally did not expect to have the level of femininity in my daughter as I do.

And I love every single square inch of her inside and out.

So when she wanted to have "pretty toes" like mommy, I quickly learned that this was not necessarily a good idea for my toddler (at the time).  My polish smelled of fumes and took longer to dry than I imagined a toddler could tolerate.  This had never been a concern for myself, but your perspective on a lot of things changes when you have children.

I was so pleased to discover Piggy Paint through the delightfulness of this tool called the internet.

Piggy Paint is non-toxic and odorless and as "Natural as Mud". It's water-based, hypoallergenic, and has a hard, durable finish. It's also made in the USA, so you know it adheres to the standards set up by our government rather than containing chemicals that are not banned in some other countries (plus it gives people here jobs, right?!).

With a huge array of color choices, the standard polish is fun for little girls as well as big girls who love to have fun.

There are also a whole line of products for tweens, fans, and dog-lovers as well!  And if you are too mature for those wild, splashy colors, there is also a line for you. Safe for everyone!

As a bonus, they carry a number of gift sets that have already been assembled into color families and wrapped up in cute little bags for a fun, easy gift.

And not only do you not have to worry about the fumes of the polish, they also make a great polish remover that is eco-friendly and low odor! Hooray!

Piggy Paint has also create a new (to me) line of products that I got the privilege to try out: their new paint pens.

Since I am notorious for painting half of my own finger along with my nails (especially when using my left hand!), I have always had trouble trying to apply polish to my daughter's tiny nails in an even coat without glopping on too much. I usually failed. So I thought these paint pens might be the perfect solution.

So I gave it a go.

She wanted to show off her nails AND her princesses. Princesses not included in giveaway. =)

I was so pleased at the success that I had! She sat there very still while I applied it and allowed it to dry (it took no time at all, it seemed). It was so fast that she even let me apply a second coat to even up the color and make it more vibrant. The only con was that it took a while to get the nail color to start flowing from the pen. The first time it was obvious when it was coming because the pen tip was white until the polish arrived. The second time, the tip was already purple, so it was hard to know when it was coming. It came though, so no big deal.

It was a hit with both her and me! I would definitely purchase these for little ones nails!

The only downside was trying to convince her that she didn't need to do this with her own coloring markers (they look very similar).

Now Piggy Paint wants to offer one of my readers the chance to win one of their great new paint pens along with a gift set! Lots of fun for back to school attire - even when they are confined to uniforms, they can express themselves with a little fun on their fingers!

Click through below and enter the giveaway via Rafflecopter. I promise - it's easy to do!
