It's nice to know that other people feel respect for our banner is important, as I do.

It seems, as minnemom noted, that many people feel they are being patriotic by purchase flag items...such as plates, napkins, etc...even to t-shirts with the flag on it. It seems supportive, but it is actually against the code. And don't get me started on little plastic disposable flags. Grrr...

Thanks again, everyone!Kayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16037837655750384138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4539171111656887739.post-9571995828191669582008-06-20T00:57:00.000-04:002008-06-20T00:57:00.000-04:00Second Air Force brat here and I love the post. I love seeing people younger than 60 show respect for our flag.
Just the other day, I talked to my three year old about how the flag should never touch the ground. I want him to appreciate all that has been sacrificed for him.

Thanks for a great post!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4539171111656887739.post-32845605126941573302008-06-19T19:34:00.000-04:002008-06-19T19:34:00.000-04:00Thanks for the reminder. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use.

Every notice how much throwaway flag-printed stuff is sold this time of year? (Plates, napkins, etc.) I guess it's actually more patriotic not to buy that stuff than to use it improperly.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4539171111656887739.post-20077103088772939982008-06-19T11:56:00.000-04:002008-06-19T11:56:00.000-04:00This is really cool!
